Holy Book of Chondra

When the Great Plains were running red with the blood of mortals and gods alike, Chondra was yet a mortal living in the town of Myrtin. Yet even then She was blessed by Ulane, for She had seen more winters than any human there and looked not older than the eldest of the town remembered her from when they had been children.

Then it happened that the Great Battle of the Plains was lost and Ra had fallen and Ulane was grievously wounded and dying, and thus Ulane appeared to Chondra and named Her Her successor and bestowed upon Her all Her powers as a goddess and then died in Her arms.

And Chondra mourned for Her goddess but when She had wept, She got up and went to the west to bring back hope to the living, and those were HER words to Her followers:

“I have come to bring you dire news. As most of you have feared, Ulane is no more. She died from wounds taken at the hands of the legions of Xanathar. She gave her life, so you would survive to fight another day. But before She passed away, She came to me and bestowed upon me the task of continuing the work She has begun. My name is Chondra, and I will see to it, that Xanathar and every last one of his minions are returned to an eternal grave!”

And those words were heard by all of Her followers all over the world and they flocked to her banner.

And Chondra led them to a place She had chosen and prepared it for the battle against the lich.

When Xanathar arrived, he ordered his minions to cross the river to assault Chondra and Her followers, but behold, the river rose and swept away the foul unlife, and watery plants tore them to pieces. And among the ranks of the unlife, a forest sprang to life and crushed the unlife with heavy blows, and thus Chondra’s followers rejoiced and entered the battle and drove the unlife before them.

And then Chondra came to face the evil lich himself, and they did battle, and Chondra bested him and reduced him to ashes, so he would never rise again.

And all those around hailed Chondra and drew hope for the battles yet to come.
