Thousand Islands
The Thousand Islands is a chain of islands in the far east, stretching north from the northern end of the continent of Govol. Most of the islands are uninhabited, but there are some notable exceptions:
Ges'erti Fei’de
Ges'erti Fei’de is the biggest island in the Thousand Islands. It is inhabited primarily by lizardmen, who are very isolationist and do not welcome outsiders.
Ch'kar B'kora
Also called the Citadel of the Stars, the small island of Ch’Kar B’Kora is the home of the navigator guild of the same name. The guild provides services for all the Thousand Islands north of the Essaence stream. Technically it is possible for non-lizardmen to become members of this guild, but they will have to fight many prejudices.
Ferder
Ferder is an island mostly inhabited by dragons, and it is located almost in the centre of the Thousand Islands. It is dominated by a large volcano. In the third era the Dragonlord ruled over his subjects from the great city of Skydome on top of the volcano. Since the Unlife Wars contact with Ferder is all but nonexistent and the current state of affairs there is unknown.
The “Uninhabited Island”
On the shipping route from Memee to Ferder lies a small barren island. Though the sailors have always called it the “Uninhabited Island”, an old hermit used to make her home there. She was sometimes sought out by adventurers for her wisdom, but she hasn’t been seen since the Period of Destruction and is presumed to have perished.
Many sailors insist that the island is haunted and have been avoiding it since the reappearance of the White Island provided them with an alternative for taking on fresh water.
White Island
Only a few miles from the Uninhabited Island lies White Island. The island had originally been destroyed by the explosion of the local powernode 400 years ago, but during some events involving time travel, Archwizard Dazzle Smallgrake and Lady High Mage Shandril Shessair-Dana managed to change history returning the island and its inhabitants to the present unharmed.
Today White Island is the northernmost point of the former shipping route between Derimir and Ferder. It is also the location of the largest temple of Chondra in the Thousand Islands.
Memee
Memee is a medium sized island, about halfway between Derimir and Ferder, thus it is often used as a stopover point for ships needing to take on fresh water.
There is a small village on the southern shores, that has taken in many refugees from Derimir – and especially from Noma – during the recent war.
Another point of interest is the Phelann Magic Academy in the centre of the island.
Derimir
Delee
Delee is a small island directly north of the Essaence stream separating the largest part of the Thousand Islands from the continent of Govol. It is inhabited primarily by water elementals and there is a temple of water on a small hill in its centre. It is also the site of a stable portal linking Delee to Rekel on the southern side of the Essaence stream.
Death Rock Island
Death Rock island is little more than that – a barren stretch of rock notable only for a portal to the Outer Planes – the pales - that is in its centre. Occasionally a group of demons wanders through the portal, making the island a dangerous place to visit.
Rekel
Rekel is uninhabited save for the unlife that infests it and the restless ghosts haunting the ruins of R’Lyeh.
Unlike the parts of the Thousand Islands north of the Essaence stream, Death Rock Island is served by the navigators of Vurn’Kye.
The Pirate Island
Rumours persist of an island serving as a hideout for an organization of half-elven pirates called the White Lords. The location of this island is unknown though.
The Thousand Islands are served by the Ch’Kar B’Kora navigators.
