Treatise On Seekers, Elementalists And Their Like
The following part of a destroyed book was successfully excavated from the ruins of Noma.
First is the text, then the commentary based on current situation.
The Text
From the “People and groups of power” by Devian Fersei, published on 3th year of 7th period of owl, third era, in the City of Vermol in Central Kingdom.
“There used to be reasonably large groups of people called by different names at different times and places, but with all common traits.
The most common name seems to be “seeker” though many other names are used and I will try to explain some of the other names in more detail later in this chapter, but unless otherwise noted, the term seeker is used to indicate them all.
The largest number of seekers seemed to coincide with the starting of mage wars, where most seekers were killed, seemingly even in much higher proportion than the rest of the population.
All seekers seem superhuman in power in one way or other, being somewhere between normal mortals and Demigods. The more powerful seekers are almost like demigods in power.
All the seekers seem to be associated with some greater power. The powers of the seekers are different for the different seeker types, as are their associations.
The most common types seem to be “Divine Seekers” associated with gods or demigods.
The Divine Seekers seem to have close links to their gods and work as prophets and such for the churches, though not members of the church in the traditional sense and often disliked by the church hierarchy.
The number of these seekers seems to be slowly on the upswing, probably the total number is several hundred by now, though estimating exact numbers is hard.
Most common are of course those seekers following the Lords of Orhan.
The second class of seekers are the elementalists, these are seekers are associated with 4 of the 6 elements.. or the 4 elements of classic magic theory.
These seekers are linked to their chosen element, employing it to great effect.
There has been a group of seekers apparently associated with the life element, called Guardians, they seemed to bond to the people, animals and other life in an area, having great powers in that area, but not elsewhere. Some recent sources claim that there are some guardians again, though this is unconfirmed.
Finally there was a group of seekers apparently associated with unlife element, called Destroyers. Thankfully they were never numerous, and apparently the last of them were destroyed in the Magewars“
Commentary
It seems that again in the Unlife Wars the ammount of seekers lost is much higher than their proportion.
The only Seekers known to have survived the Period of Destruction are Tara Thenthen, Guardian of Vesper and Em Dana the Guardian of Greywoods.
