Information

Until the Unlife Wars, Crog was a Local God and was worshipped in the area of the Great Forest near Carse. He was part of a mission to prevent the Lich Xodur from killing the god Krao and taking his power for himself. They managed to prevent the ritual from being completed and Crog with help from the dieing Krao managed to defeat Xodur, sealing him beneath the Dark Citadel.

Crog has since taken residence there to prevent Xodur from ever being freed again.

As orcs didn’t have a patron god among the pantheon of the third era, Crog has since claimed this portfolio for himself. He has also taken the portfolio of war from Krao, though under his patronage it has been changed to more resemble honourable battle. Finally some scholars choose to follow Crog who has been a scholar through most his life both as a mortal and as a local god.

Crog is famous for his magical backpack which may contain virtually everything! He also carries a ladder most of the time which he puts to the most ingenious uses. The ladder is also his holy symbol.

Among the paladins of Crog, there are in equal parts surviving paladins of Ra and surviving black knights of Krao. This has led to some unease among the former mortal enemies, but Crog has been sucessful in ensuring their cooperation, and by now new recruits by far outnumber the veterans of the Unlife Wars. (Few Ra followers survived the Great Battle of the Plains, and few Krao followers survived the Battle of the Black Citadel.) Crog also accepts orcs among his paladins, though not many of that race feel the calling.

On Derimir the only temple to Crog is located in the Fighter School in the Bandit Pass. It is led by Crog The Paladin who is said to be a descendant of the god himself. A smaller shrine, guarded by several Paladins is located in Noma to help defend the community from the dangers of the north.
