Description
Cerea is nothing more than smoking monster-infested ruins at this time.
The ruins of course attract numbers of adventurers and other fortune seekers who believe they can find something valuable and survive. There are reports of large numbers of unlife in the ruins as of late, making this more difficult than ever.
History
At the end of the third era, Cerea was was the largest city on the island of Derimir and one of the largest in the thousand islands. It had a population in the 15000 to 20000 range.
It was a former pirate town turned to trade, being the biggest trade hub in the whole thousand islands area. The shipping lines from Cerea braved the hazards of the seas and the essaence flows doing regular trips to most inhabited islands and even the continent of Myaasia.
It was also home to a great number of legendary heroes.
It was ruled by a council of captains, with one captain from each of the Ruling factions of the city: The Brotherhood, The Chosen, The Aristocrats, the Cerea Trading Association as well as the Red and Black Kickball teams.
These organizations had their basis in the former pirates, thus the title of captain for the leaders. The ruling guilds did not generally get along all that well, each pulling in their own direction, thus making ruling difficult.
The city had no real army and only an understrength city guard.
During the Unlife Wars Cerea came under attack by an invasion force of the Northern Empire and, over the course of the Period of Destruction, was completely destroyed by the fighting.
The most complete account of these battles cam be found in The Destruction of Cerea by the famous historian Bejamin Black of Vesper.
