Description
The city of Carse survived the Unlife Wars without being the site of any battles, thus most buildings are in very good conditions, though some are in need of repair. The city is surrounded by swamps and marshes for several miles in every direction. The whole area is crawling with venomous creatures, most of which are said to be even deadlier than their normal counterparts. In the city itself, cultists of Nehaya have taken up residence, reshaping the palace of Carse to please their goddess. Any sane people avoid Carse whenever possible.
History
Before the Unlife Wars, Carse was a bustling port and the major thoroughfare for all goods headed from the continent of Myaasia to the Thousand Islands and back. Though Carse was spared the horrors of the unlife armies, the city was brought down more completely than any other city during the Period of Destruction: Of the people living within a days march of the city not a single person survived! The inhabitants of Carse were not slain by an attack by tangible enemies but rather died of a magical plague, linked by many sages to the ascension of the evil goddess Nehaya. After the demise of the inhabitants, swamps claimed Carse and the surrounding farmlands. Snakes spiders and other venomous creatures multiplied and infested the whole area.
