Zerim

The small village has been completely destroyed. No trace remains of it. Only a fortified temple of Reann holds a silent vigil over a place where unspeakable evil is still said to reside only a short way beneath the surface. Theirs is a dangerous life, for unlife still remains plentiful in the area.

In the third era, Zerim was a small town dedicated to the worship of life. It had been founded in the very place where the gods Jaysek and Kieron had sealed the Armies of the Twelve Liches had been sealed during the Magewars at the end of the second era. In the Unlife Wars those powerful wards weakened and several of the armies managed to break free, completely annihilating the small village above. After the Unlife Wars, worshippers of Reann returned to this place to set up a guard over the remaining armies – not to guard against their escape, for if that should happen the world would surely be doomed – but to prevent anyone from tampering with the wards…
