Holy Book of Crog

In the dark time, when Xodur was a plague upon the land, the people came to seek the help of Crog in the fight against this evil. The wisdom of Crog pierced the evil plans of Xodur and His wrath aroused, He led his followers towards the Dark Citadel to put an end to the lich’s schemes.

And among those who followed Crog into the darkness were some who had once sworn allegiance to Ra, who had perished on the fields of the Rohim battling the lich Xanathar.

And Crog led them to the great Mountain on top of which Xodur’s minions had conquered the Dark Citadel of Krao, and those of Xodur’s minions who saw Crog’s approach cowered away in fear.

And Crog led them deep into the bowels of the mountain. There they came upon a company of blackguards who were still fighting the lichs minions, though their fortress had fallen, and Crog went to them and in his wisdom offered them alliance against the unlife, and they accepted.

Deeper and deeper, Crog went to finally come upon the chamber where the vile lich Xodur was holding the defeated god Krao and executing his vile ritual. And Crog took up the battle and both Ra’s paladins and Krao’s Blackguards were beside him. But Alas the lich was very powerful and the battle was hard and pitched.

Then Krao broke free from his bonds and with his dying breath bestowed upon Crog his godly powers, and Crog took up the blade of Krao and turned it upon the lich and bested him.

After the battle Crog turned to those assembled around him, and He said that Xodur was defeated yet not destroyed and He would take up His vigil at this site to make sure he would never escape his prison again.

And He went to the paladins of Ra and He said to them “Your Lord has fallen, but will you accept me as your liege and aid me in my vigil so unlife may never rise again?” and they said “Aye!”

And He went to the blackguards of Krao and He said to them “Your Lord has fallen, but will you accept me as your liege and aid me in my vigil so unlife may never rise again?” and they said “Aye!”

And thus it happened and thus we rejoice!
