TLK table contents
Tlk table entries are used in many systems. Insert the tlk entries below.
To use an alternate talk table, add the bit 0x01000000 (add 16777216 to numbers below) of a StrRef specifies that the StrRef should be fetched from the alternate tlk file.
Note, that this page must not have any other tables as the one below. Tlk format describes the formatting rules for the tlk text fields.
The following entry will autoinclude itemtlkentries to the final tlk. The itemtlkentries page is automatically generated from the c_baseitemproperties.nss file. This will reserve numbers between 8000-9000.

---|---|---|---|
16777816 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: Destitute: This is the lowest level of status. You live on the bedroll on the back room of an inn and do not really use money for your living. You simply gather any food you can find. This is the starting level of status for goblins, orcs, kobolds and ettins. |
16777817 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: Poor: You are poor, but you might have enough money to get a room in the inn instead of sleeping in a bedroll. You also use about 1 cp per day for food and other expenses like maintaining clothes and equipment. This status is required to get initiate rank in any guild. This is starting level of status for half-orcs and barbarians. |
16777818 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: Average: This is the normal average status level of the non-skilled person. You might sleep in a bedroll in the inn, or you might get a room from an inn or even an apartment. This status is required to get an apprentice rank in any guild. You normally pay 2 coppers per day for food and other expenses like maintaining clothes and equipment. |
16777819 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: Above Average: This is the status level of the journeyman of the guild or the other skilled laborman. It is not acceptable anymore to sleep in a bedroll in the inn. You need to have room in an inn or your own apartment, but you might even get your own house. You normally use at least 4 coppers per day for your daily costs. |
16777820 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: Respected: This is the status level required from the masters of the guild or the other very skilled labormen. You might still live in a room in an inn (altought your fellow masters might consider that only temporary and expect you to upgrade your housing very soon), but most likely you have your own apartment or house, and you can even get your own mansion if you like. You use at least 8 coppers per day to pay your daily costs. |
16777821 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: Highly Respected: This is the status level required from the senior masters of the guild or the very skilled specialists. A room in an inn is not an option anymore. You need at least an apartment of your own, but normally you live in a house or mansion. You use at least 16 coppers per day to pay your daily costs. |
16777822 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: Low Noble: This is the status level required from the high master of any guild, knight or freeman (i.e. low noble). You might still live in your own house, but you might have a mansion or even a castle at this point. You use more than 3 silvers per day for your daily costs. |
16777823 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: Medium Noble: This is the status level of the Barons and similar nobles. You need a mansion or castle, and your daily costs start from 6 silvers per day. |
16777824 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: High Noble: This is the status level of the high nobles. You need a mansion or castle and you use at least 13 silvers per day for your daily costs. |
16777825 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: Royal: This is the status level of the royal family in smaller kingdoms. You need some kind of castle, and you use at least 26 silvers per day for your daily costs. |
16777826 | GUI | Kivinen | Status: High Royal: This is the status level of the royal family of the large kingdom or empire. You need a huge castle, and you use at least 5 gold per day for your daily costs. |
16777836 | GUI | Kivinen | Housing: Bedroll: This is the most primitive form of housing. You live on a bedroll in the common room of the inn. This is acceptable for initiates and apprentices of the guild and those who have status level Average or less. A bedroll will cost you 1 cp per day. |
16777837 | GUI | Kivinen | Housing: Room: This is the normal housing for normal adventurers, i.e. getting a room from an inn. This is acceptable for the journeymen and masters of the guild (although masters should get an apartment instead) and those who are of a status level between poor and Respected. A room in an inn will cost you 3 cp per day. |
16777838 | GUI | Kivinen | Housing: Apartment: This is the normal housing for higher level adventurers, i.e. getting their own apartment from the apartment buildings. This is for those who do not want to permanently stay in one place and build their own house, so they rent an apartment instead. This is acceptable for even senior masters (even though they should get a house) and those who are of a status level between Average and Highly Respected. An apartment will cost you 9 cp per day. |
16777839 | GUI | Kivinen | Housing: House: This is for those adventurers who have decided that they will stay here and build their own house. This is an acceptable housing level for even high masters and those who are of a status level from Above Average to Low Noble. A house will cost you 27 cp per day. |
16777840 | GUI | Kivinen | Housing: Mansion: This is the big house that is a bit separated from others, so you have some room for a garden and more. This is an acceptable housing level for those who are of a status level from Respected to High Noble. A mansion will cost you 81 cp per day. |
16777841 | GUI | Kivinen | Housing: Castle: This is a big stone castle or a large house in an exotic location (such as a wizard tower at the peak of a volcano). This is an acceptable housing level for Nobles and Royals. A castle will cost you (and if you need to ask, you cannot afford it) 243 cp per day. |

Hints
Number | System | Builder | Text |
---|---|---|---|
16777984 | Hints | weby | History: Cerea used to be a thriving city ruled by a group of people called Captains. |
16777985 | Hints | weby | History: Vesper survived the collapse of civilization at the end of the third era due to many great heroes. |
16777986 | Hints | weby | Tip: Being skilled in Spellcraft, Lore or Spot can often help you to get more information from items and places. |
16777987 | Hints | weby | Tip: The Adventurers Guild is a great resource to adventurers, listing many quests that you can complete. |
16777988 | Hints | weby | Tip: The Cerea2 player screen has many settings and useful actions. You can access it by clicking “More actions” under the modebar in lower right corner. |
16777989 | Hints | weby | Note: If you find a bug, please use the report bug function on the Cerea2 website or in the Cerea2 player tool. |
16777990 | Hints | weby | Tip: Not all quests are listed in the Adventurer Guild. In general, it is good to speak to all NPCs you encounter to see if they have a quest to offer. |
16777991 | Hints | weby | Gods: Kuor is the king of the gods and ruler of Orhan. He can control the weather on Myaasia, and he reputedly is a master of the Flows of Essaence. Appearing as a man of middle years yet hale, he is beardless and has a wild mane of snow-white hair. Kuor is almost never seen on Myaasia and he rarely intervenes in the affairs of the mortals. |
16777992 | Hints | weby | Gods: Valris ('The Wise') is the wife of Kuor and goddess of learning and wisdom. Valris is a patron of scholars and masters of thought. Thick sable hair which flows down her back, large pale grey eyes and ivory skin are Valris’ most striking features. She rarely intervenes in the affairs of mortals. |
16777993 | Hints | weby | Gods: Chondra is the goddess of nature. As such she holds dominion over plants and animals, earth and harvest. She is also worshipped as the goddess of fertility and called upon by many childless women. |
16777994 | Hints | weby | Gods: Storm Goddess is the godess of Sky, Air and Sea, but also of unpredictability, feminity (and Luck). She usually comes to Myaasia as a great eagle soaring high and looking sharply at the actions of mortals. If she appears to humanoids, it is usually in the form of an Air Elemental. Most seamen give her worship as she is so often present in their lives. |
16777995 | Hints | weby | Gods: Towards the end of the third era, Am was a mysterious, though still famous wizard on the island of Derimir. He was said to be the older brother of the god Ra and heir to one of the oldest elven family lines still in existance. He is the god of magic, elves and healing. |
16777996 | Hints | weby | Gods: Crog is famous for his magical backpack which may contain virtually everything! He also carries a ladder most of the time which he puts to the most ingenious uses. The ladder is also his holy symbol. He is the god of honorable war, scholars and orcs. |
16777997 | Hints | weby | Gods: Belwar is widely followed by most craftsmen and many soldiers everywhere. Thus he is one of the more worshipped of the Lords of Orhan. |
16777998 | Hints | weby | Gods: Reann is the God of the Night (Dream-master, Bringer of Sleep, Lord of Dreams), and the master of sleep and dreams, sending visions to his followers. He is the only Lord of Orhan who prefers the night. It is his domain, though one which is tainted by the evils of the Unlife. As a result, Reann has faced the terror of the Unlife more than most others. |
16777999 | Hints | weby | Gods: Kieron is the god of festivals, including the performing arts (music, plays and poetry). He plays a stringed instrument called the Quindera and has a hypnotic singing voice. He is called upon to bless wine and ale (and to aid in recovery from hangovers). |
16778000 | Hints | weby | Gods: Teris is the messenger of the gods. He appears as a beautiful youth in his middle teens. He carries a short staff which records the messages to be delivered. Always barefoot, he can run faster than any living creature. It is rumored that at least one Navigator guild holds him as their patron. |
16778001 | Hints | weby | Gods: In the third era, Greyre was counted among the pantheon of evil gods, the Lords of Charon. Thus it came as a surprise to everyone when it became known that Greyre had slain the lich Clagor, who had just conquered the Northern Empire. Greyre and his followers even took part in the Battle of the Gods on the side of the Hosts of Orhan. |
16778002 | Hints | weby | Gods: Dural is the main evil god, being the oldest and most powerful of the Dark Lords of Charon. He is an evil god of magic terror and usually takes the form of some greater demon. |
16778003 | Hints | weby | Gods: Nehaya is a goddess of evil corruption, poison and diseases, she caused the city of Carse to become infected with some great disease causing untold loss of life. |
16778004 | Hints | weby | Gods: The greater gods are divided into two main groups – the Lords of Orhan and the Lords of Charon. |
16778005 | Hints | weby | World: Myaasia is generally a tortured world with its greatest flaw being the ready availability of too much power to those who know how to use it, in the shape of the Essaence. |
16778006 | Hints | weby | World: The Myaasia is larger than earth, but the scarcity of heavy elements has both slowed down technology and given it an earth-like surface gravity. Technology is notably absent for another reason: the power offered by the ever-present Essaence makes things of technology seem tiny and unimportant. |
16778007 | Hints | weby | World: The fact that the whole world is an inter-dimensional gateway of sorts has shaped the history into a series of massive conflicts between would-be rulers of the globe. The amount of raw power released in these battles has been enough to reshape the geography many times, and has given the globe its volcanic and extremely unstable nature. |
16778008 | Hints | weby | World: The Eastern Hemisphere: All known continents are on the (so-called) Western Hemisphere. There is absolutely no knowledge about the East. There are tales of a wildly beautiful but insanely shifting land and of an endless sea of chaotic colours, but no one knows. The supposition that to go East is to go insane. “He went East” is a common term for “He went mad.” |
16778009 | Hints | weby | World:Travel is generally very hazardous due to the wild geography, excessive volcanism in some places, the abundant evil and the unstable Essaence Flows. If one has (lots of) money, the easiest way to travel is to hire a Navigator, who will act as a reliable guide to almost anywhere (with notable exceptions!). |
16778010 | Hints | weby | History: The first era was the era of the immortals, dominated mostly by the Iylari and the Uruk-Hai, with their long lifespans to gain personal skill and power. In the Elf-Orc-Wars at the end of the first era, their slow breeding-rates eventually caused the “lesser” races to grind them down with numbers. |
16778011 | Hints | weby | History: The second era: During most of the era, the forces of life and unlife were approximately balanced. Towards the middle of the era, the dragons with their tremendous power gained more and more power, but in the Magewars at the end, they faced the problems of their slow rate of breeding and lost most of their influence. |
16778012 | Hints | weby | History: The begining of third era was a time of unprecedented growth of life. This time, the fast breeding races like common men and goblins and lesser orcs saw a great dominance. With unlife forced mostly to the shadows and the longer-living races low in numbers, the domination of the world was in the hands of the “common” races. |
16778013 | Hints | weby | History: At the end of the third era, a large number of unlife swept over most of the world, killing millions in what became known as the Unlife Wars. They were eventually defeated, but large parts of the land remained under unlife control. |
16778014 | Hints | weby | Time is divided into seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, years, periods, sets and eras. Seconds to weeks is as expected. There are 48 weeks in a year and 12 years in a period, except for the periods of destruction that only have six years. A set has 13 periods and thus 150 years. Catalysmic events cause the change of an era and the counting of periods to start anew. |
16778015 | Hints | weby | World: The lands are full of plants that have healing or harming properties. Different herbs can be found in different types of terrain. |
16778016 | Hints | weby | World: The largest of the moons, Orhan is also the only moon with an atmosphere, making it more like a planet than a moon. The surface is perpetually shrouded in clouds, making observations of the surface impossible. The period of orbit is 28 days. Orhan is reputedly the home of a group of gods – the Lords of Orhan. |
16778017 | Hints | weby | World: The second largest moon, Varin is much smaller than Orhan, although it still has a discernible disk. It orbits in a period of seven days, giving rise to the Myaasian seven-day week. In appearance, Varin is a strange, mottled orange, possibly as a result of volcanic activity. |
16778018 | Hints | weby | World: Charon is a small, featureless, silvery-gray moon. It orbits in a peculiar polar orbit and is rarely in conjunction with Orhan. Little is known about it, but it is considered an evil presence by most Myaasians, who believe that the orb is a haven of strange, otherworldly beings and presences. |
16778019 | Hints | weby | World: Mikori Mikori is the least visible of the Myaasian moons. It can barely be made out as a gleaming mote in the night sky. |
16778020 | Hints | weby | World: Tlilok Tlilok is actually a satellite of Orhan, rather than of Myaasia. It is a tiny moon and is only visible as a mote against the backdrop of Orhan on clear nights. |
16778021 | Hints | weby | World: Vesper is a small farming community in the centre of the island of Derimir. Once at the crossroads of the road between Cerea and Noma with the Westroad to Naye Bay, Vesper is largely cut off from the rest of the world today but is self-sufficient enough to feed its population. |
16778022 | Hints | weby | Races: Sylvans are a large group of intelligent races roughly divided into Elves, Fairies and Nymphs. Common to all sylvans is a bit of irrelevance and “free spirit.” Also, none of the sylvans grow old or die of old age. |
16778023 | Hints | weby | Races: Erlini or wood-elves are quite numerous and a bit “rustic” when compared to other elves. They tend to be of ruddy complexion, with sandy hair and blue or green eyes. They are slender when compared to humans but not when compared to other elves. They are very adept at moving undetected, especially in the forests. To this end, they wear green and brown garments. |
16778024 | Hints | weby | Races: Lineari are one of the two races of the Iylari or Great Elves. They have very fair skin and light hair, and they are considered the most beautiful of all elves. Contrary to the popular belief about elves, they are no more graceful then the average human. |
16778025 | Hints | weby | Races: The Loari are the craftsmen among the elves, and their works are highly prized among all the races of both elves, men and dwarves. They are also very intelligent, and so there are quite a few powerful wizards of their people. They are the second race of the Iylari. |
16778026 | Hints | weby | Races: Shuluri or sea elves usually live under the surface of oceans. They have a set of gills in addition to lungs. A shuluri can manage on the surface for quite a long time without too many problems, although he will have to immerse himself in water once per day (minimum of 10 minutes) or get worse each day, usually wasting away in a few weeks. |
16778027 | Hints | weby | Races: Drow have a dark, bluish skin, usually grey eyes and white hair. A large group of them were twisted by evil long ago and thus work as assassins and commanders for the Northern Empire. But contrary to popular belief, not all drow are evil. |
16778028 | Hints | weby | Races: Pixies are small fairylike creatures with greenish hair and skin. A strong love of fun and pranks motivates the pixie. They prefer bright colours and dress in garments of bright green. True malice is lacking from their practical jokes, and a benevolent interest in certain mortals may lead a pixie to provide helpful guidance. |
16778029 | Hints | weby | Races: Common Man is probably the most numerous of all races and the fastest breeding, except probably for orcs and goblinoids. They are passable craftsmen who produce serviceable weapons, armours and traps. There is much trade between men and other races, so they are skilled traders as well. There is not a skill they are really bad at. |
16778030 | Hints | weby | Races: High Man are the elite of men, produced from a mixture of some elvish blood in Northerning Stock. Highmen are tall, muscular and blonde. Highmen have most of the important positions in the kingdom and rarely intermix with their lesser kindred. |
16778031 | Hints | weby | Races: True Dragons are creatures of immense power, and all are extremely intelligent and capable of taking any form. In their natural forms, they are very much elemental beings like the greater drakes, but on a more massive scale. They come in the six elemental varieties. |
16778032 | Hints | weby | Races: Greater Drakes are formidable creatures that are also known as elemental dragons as they display a high disproportion of a given element. All of them are usually smart and much more formidable than lesser drakes. Typical greater drakes can defeat small armies. |
16778033 | Hints | weby | Races: Lesser Drakes are the most common type of drakes, usually known by their colours or the way they look. Even though they are the least of pure dragonkind, against most mortals they are still quite formidable. |
16778034 | Hints | weby | Playing: If in doubt, look at your journal for quest information and the map for map pins. |
16778035 | Hints | weby | Playing: If your money pouch is getting heavy with copper, depositing money in the Vesper Bank helps. The bank will charge a deposit fee but will also safeguard the funds from being robbed. |
16778036 | Hints | weby | Magic: Everyone who has an ability score of 12 or higher in Intelligence, Charisma or Wisdom, knows some minor magic (see your character sheet for the mundane cast feat) and can learn more useful ones from some trainers. |

16778844 | Armor | Weby | Basic clothing provides fashion and style but does not confer an armor bonus. |
16778845 | Armor | Weby | Leather vests are are made from tough leather and either waxed or boiled to hardness. They protect the torso and vitals |
16778846 | Armor | Weby | Leather coats are more used by woodsmen and travelers for protection against the elements than as armor. |
16778847 | Armor | Weby | Long leather coats are made from hardened leather at places, also known as buffcoats. They provide fair protection and are used by some militias as armor. |
16778848 | Armor | Weby | Chain vest protects your torso while leaving your limbs free and mobile. It includes a layer of quilted fabric worn underneath to prevent chafing and to cushion the impact of blows. |
16778849 | Armor | Weby | Chainmail is made of interlocking metal rings. It includes a layer of quilted fabric worn underneath to prevent chafing and to cushion the impact of blows. Several layers of mail are hung over vital areas. Most of the armor's weight hangs from the shoulders, making chainmail uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. |
16778850 | Armor | Weby | A breastplate covers your front and your back. It comes with greaves (plates to cover your lower legs). A light suit or skirt of studded leather beneath the breastplate protects your limbs without restricting movement much. |
16778851 | Armor | Weby | Half plate is a combination of chainmail with metal plates (breastplate, epaulettes, elbow guards, gauntlets, tasses, and greaves) covering vital areas. Buckles and straps hold the whole suit together and distribute the weight, but the armor still hangs more loosely than full plate. Worn with a helmet it provides excelent cover for whole body. |
16778852 | Armor | Weby | Full plate consists of shaped and fitted metal plates riveted and interlocked to cover the entire body. The suit includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and a thick layer of padding that is worn underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body. When worn with a helmet, this armor provides very few vulnerable spots. |
16778853 | Armor | Weby | Quilted armor features quilted layers of cloth and batting. It gets hot quickly and can become foul with sweat, grime, lice, and fleas. |
16778854 | Armor | Weby | Chain hauberk is made of heavy interlocking metal rings in the form of a long jacket. It includes a layer of quilted fabric worn underneath to prevent chafing and to cushion the impact of blows. Most of the armor's weight hangs from the shoulders, making chainmail uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. |
16778855 | Armor | Weby | Target shield is worn over the arm. It provides basic protection but does not cover a large area |
16778856 | Armor | Weby | Normal shield is worn by most adventurerers and soldiers, provides fairly good cover without being overly cumbersome. |
16778857 | Armor | Weby | Wall shield is the ultimate in protection, covering the whole body from the front. This protection comes at a cost though, hampering the owner a lot. |
16778858 | Armor | Weby | Robes provide fashion and style and some protection, but at a cost of some encumberance. |
16778859 | Armor | Weby | Heavy clothes are heavier versions of basic clothes, meant to be used in colder weather. |
