Naye Bay is a small settlement of fishermen on the west coast of the island of Derimir. It was once connected to Vesper via the Westroad, but this road was retaken by the forest by the actions of Guardians Em Dana and Tara Thenthen.
The houses that are inhabited are in comparably good condition, but over two thirds of the buildings stand empty; their inhabitants have either been killed in the war or they chose to stay in Vesper.
There is some measure of trade between Naye Bay and Vesper but the treck through the woods is dangerous, so most of the food has to be shipped down the Vesper River by boat.
In the centre of the town there is a memorial with the inscription “In memory of the heroes Robin Loxley and Aragorn Ardemanne. They gave their lives so we would live to return.”
When the imperial invasion force arrived at Naye Bay, most of the inhabitants had already been evacuated towards Vesper thanks to a timely warning by master ranger Aragorn Ardemanne. Ardemanne himself and Naye Bay's Guardian Robin Loxley fell, fighting a rearguard action to allow the last inhabitants to escape into the woods.
As both the invasion and the recapture of Naye Bay occured with very little fighting (the imperial garrision had already been recalled to Cerea, when alliance troops retook the town), most of the pre-war buildings are still standing, though in dire need of repair.
After the war some of the refugees chose to return to Naye Bay, to take up their learned craft as fishermen again, though altogether Naye Bay numbers less than a third of the inhabitants it had before the war.
