The Bandit Pass is a narrow way that winds through a mountain range that separates the wooded south of the island of Derimir from the wild north. At its apex is small fort that was once called the Bandit Fort but is now simply know as the Bulwark.
The Bulwark is garrisoned by an order of Crog paladins, led by Crog (who is said to be a descendant of the god himself). They serve as the first line of defense against the numerous unlife and monsters roaming the north of Derimir.
Also the Fighter School has set up residence here, after the old location just south of Noma had to be abandoned in the wake of the second invasion.
Though there are no longer many bandits in the Bandit Pass, the name has stuck with the locals.
The Mountains surrounding the pass have problems with Ogres, the few remaining bandits and numerous Demon-spawn.
In the late third era the Bandit Pass was notorious for the bandits that gave it its name. When the imperial army had occupied Cerea, the newly formed alliance of the free peoples of Derimir decided that such a threat could no longer be tolerated.
The bandits were driven from the pass and their fortress was garrisoned by alliance forces. The Bandit Pass was so well defendable, that throughout the war for Derimir no imperial forces managed to fight their way to Vesper via that route.
