Ok, this seems to have been getting some tempers frayed.

Here to clarify.

Cerea is principally intended for good alignment characters (or neutral). The quests are basically the fight against evil, players setting out to help eachother, the community or individuals.

Playing an evil character and still being able to fit in is not easy. What has been happening recently with people getting upset is that people have been playing evil characters.. and acting evil. It is this second part that is causing the problems.

Good characters will not want an evil character in their party. Their whole purpose is to fight evil, so the last thing they want is to be near one. So the only way a character can be evil and still be a part of a quest party is to hide the fact that they are evil.

This takes a lot of effort and skill at roleplaying.. and its not easy at all, so think very hard before deciding you want to go down this route.

If you play an Evil character, the only way you can realistically take part without turning all the other quest players against you.. is to hide the fact that you are evil from them.

This is not an easy thing to do. You need to be subtle. This can involve little things like making the wrong suggestion (a small thing.. like.. oh the goblins are to the east.. when they are really to the west) something that can easily be excused as an honest mistake.

Translating something wrongly… but be careful if someone else manages to translate it as well.. it had better not be too wrong.

If an NPC really upsets you… you might tell the DM that you will sneak back later and try to murder that NPC. The DM can then decide if you suceed or not. Careful though… Intelligent people don't just go around murdering people, getting caught.. or even just suspected would get in the way of their main goal… whatever it is.

Which is the most important point of all… an evil character needs to have a focus. This is much more imporant for an evil character than a good character, because an evil character has to be so much more subtle about it. All the little evil things they do need are done to achieve their goal. If an action does not bring them closer to their goal.. they will not do it… for fear of drawing attention to themselves.

So… as I have said.. playing an evil character on a good server is not easy. Consider it a challenge.. but be careful if you get it wrong.. your character might well become unplayable… when no one wants him in their party anymore.. because they think he's evil and working against them… a perfectly reasonable.. and in the case of an evil character.. a perfectly valid and logical choice.
